How do I make this project?

Cut your design(s) using your preferred cutting machine (machine-specific tutorials are available here).

Assemble the layers in sequence by stacking them in the numbered order. Each layer is clearly numbered for easy stacking, except for the top layer, which hides the numbers underneath. Find detailed tutorials here.

Frame your completed project in a frame of your choice. Wood or acrylic projects and 3d paper projects with spacers fit well in shadow box frames. Paper projects without spacers fit in any regular frame. Find our recommended supplies here.

OPTIONAL: You may or may not want to glue your layers together. The choice it yours.

What other supplies will I need?

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

Cutting machine or laser machine

Material to cut (card stock, wood, or acrylic):

Designs with 5 or fewer layers work well with materials that are 1/8" or less in thickness.

Designs with 6-7 layers work well with materials that are 1/16" or less in thickness.

Designs with 8+ layers work best with card stock or very thin materials.

A frame to display your creation:

For wood, acrylic, or 3-dimensional card stock projects, a shadow box frame is recommended.

For card stock projects without foam spacers, you can opt for any standard 8"x8" frame of your choice.

OPTIONAL MATERIALS:

Foam spacers for card stock projects

Add a 3-dimensional effect to your card stock project by using foam spacers in between layers.

Glue (for gluing your layers together).

Acid free tape (to secure your photos in picture frame designs).

Paint or stain for wood projects.

How will I get my files?

Once you purchase, you will receive a link to securely download your files via our website. You will also receive an email with the link. Or you can access your files by creating an account on our website with the same email address used to purchase.

What is a layered SVG file?

A layered SVG is an SVG file that, once loaded into your cutting machine such as a Cricut® Maker or Silhouette® Cameo or laser cutting machine, will cut each layer in the file on a separate piece of material.

How do I use these designs?

Each design comes with an easy-to-follow PDF instruction manual and links to our growing library of tutorials.

Can I use these files with Cricut®, Silhouette® or Brother ScanNCut®?

Yes, our files work with all of the above. Each design includes an SVG for Cricut and Brother Scan n Cut as well as .studio3 file which works with all paid versions of Silhouette Studio (Designer, Designer Plus, and Business Edition).

WHAT THIS MEANS:
When you load a .studio3 file into Silhouette Studio, the layers will be automatically loaded and ready to cut on separate sheets of paper. The SVG files still work with Silhouette Studio, but require the user to manually separate the layers before cutting.

Will these work with my laser machine?

Probably! Our files are layered SVG files and work most modern laser machines. We have successfully tested our files on Glowforge, xTool and WeCreat lasers and any laser that uses Lightburn or CorelDraw.
