3d Layered Card Stock
Shadow Box Supply List

As an Amazon Associate, I earn a very small commission from qualifying purchases using the links provided below.

Cutting Machine:

Our files are compatible with any machine that can read layered SVG files, such as modern Cricut, Silhouette, Brother Scan n Cut and laser machines.

What We Love: We use a Cricut Maker 3

Card Stock Paper:

We recommend using 65lb or 80lb card stock for your layered paper shadow box.(80lb will be a bit thicker and sturdier.)

What We Love: Recollections™ Brand 12x12 card stock.

Foam Tape or Dots

If you want to add dimension between your layers, we recommend using double sided foam tape. Some of our customers prefer foam dots.

Foam Core Board

If there is extra space between your 3d project and the frame backing, you can fill in that space with foam core board.

What We Love:  1/5" foam core board

Glue

If you want to glue any of your layers, we HIGHLY recommend Bearly Art Glue which comes with a small-tipped applicator. Using too much glue can warp your card stock and get messy. Less is more in this case.

That's why we LOVE Bearly Art Glue

Acid Free Tape

When you are attaching your photos to the layered card stock frames, it is important to use acid free tape that won't degrade your photos over time.

What We Love:  Acid free artist tape

Shadow Box Frames

When you are ready to frame your project, we recommend using an 8"x8" shadow box frame. If you aren't using spacers between layers, though, these projects can be framed in any standard frame!

Make sure you are getting the right size frame for your project. All of our shadow box projects are set to cut at 8"x8" but can be resized to any size.

What We Love:  Studio Fundamentals from Michaels
Click here to buy from Michaels (we find these frames fit our 8"x8" projects perfectly, but it's always a good idea to check the inside dimensions of the frame and resize your project to fit if needed)

UK Customer Recommendations (we have not personally tested these):
Search 20x20cm Box Frames on Amazon or Hobbycraft (remember to check the inside dimensions of the frame and resize your project to fit if needed).

AUS Customer Recommendations (we have not personally tested these):
Check Spotlight, Kmart or Amazon for square shadow box frames (remember to check the inside dimensions of the frame and resize your project to fit if needed).
