How to set up your project in Cricut® Design Space

When you're in Cricut® Design Space, open a new canvas and click "upload" in the bottom left corner.

On the next screen, click "upload image"

On the next screen, click "Browse"

Find the .svg file for the design you want to make. The file name will end in .svg and most of our designs begin with SVG at the beginning of the file name.

 IMPORTANT NOTE:  on SOME computers, the SVG file sis called a Microsoft Edge File or a Chrome file. This is OKAY! It's still and SVG file and the correct file to open.

On the next screen, you will see a preview of the completed design. The individual  layers will appear on the next screen.

Make sure that the text beneath the preview says "Cut Image". Then, click "Upload" in the bottom right corner.

 

 IMPORTANT NOTE:   If it says "Print Then Cut" that means you've selected the incorrect file type. Go back and make sure to upload the SVG file (which might be called a Microsoft Edge File or a Chrome file).

Your design will appear under "Recent Uploads". Click on it so that a green border appears around the design. 
Then click "Add to Canvas" in the bottom right hand corner.

Your design will appear on your canvas like the image below. To see all the individual layers, click the tiny arrow next to the design name in the right panel.

Experiment with different color options by using the color selection panel in the top navigation bar.

Choose your mat and click "confirm"

Click "Continue"

Follow on screen instructions to begin cutting your project
